It is believed to be the place where Mary, the mother of Jesus, spent the last years of her life, and today it is considered a holy site for both Christians and Muslims.

Continue your journey with a visit to the ancient city of Ephesus, one of the best-preserved archaeological sites of the Eastern Mediterranean. In the 1st century AD, it was the second-largest city in the world after Rome, with a population of over 250,000. The tour then takes you to the remains of the Temple of Artemis, once one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Although only a few columns remain today, its significance as a major place of worship dedicated to the goddess Artemis made Ephesus a prominent pilgrimage center in ancient times.
